PARKWAY Q & A

"Can I drive my truck on the parkway?"

This is one of the most frequently asked questions at NYCRoads.com. The guide below should help you determine if you can use your pickup, van, or other truck on New Jersey's parkways.

Trucks and other commercial vehicles are permitted on the Garden State Parkway from EXIT 0 (US 9 / NJ 109) in Cape May north to Exit 105 (NJ 18 / NJ 35 / NJ 36) in Tinton Falls. Tractor trailers are permitted south of Exit 105, provided that they meet other restrictions (maximum 40-foot length for trailers and 55-foot length overall).

Trucks and other commercial vehicles are prohibited from the Garden State Parkway from Exit 105 in Tinton Falls north to the New Jersey-New York border. There also is a weight restriction of 7,000 pounds (including passengers, fuel, and cargo) for all vehicles north of Exit 105.

Trucks and other commercial vehicles are banned from the entire length of the Palisades Interstate Parkway.
